Broadway Musicals

One of my favorite things to do is to watch/sing/listen to Broadway Musicals. I enjoy many of the modern musicals and almost all of the older Broadway musicals. I wish they would put more of the musicals on video. Cats, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Sound of Music, State Fair, just to name a few.

Come on, admit it, even the most manly of you can't help but burst into song during Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Paint Your Wagon. . . . MAaarrriiiiiiiaaaaaaa!

Not enough time for video games and family

I'm sure not many who will ever be reading this have wondered why there is not enough time in the day for both video games and family. But I have often wondered at that question.

I know some would argue divine design, others would just simply say, "STOP PLAYING VIDEO GAMES", (Although this is a nice set-up for an argument on the value of video games, I'll save it for another post). Why can't I have both?

I used to think that I could play video games with my family, and thereby accomplish them both together. This worked for a while until my kids began wanting to grab the controller and play along. Now I simply have to fight them for the computer or simply not play at all; sometimes life is so cruel.

In the end the outcome is the same. either I watch my kids play video games or I forget video games and play something else with my kids. Since the second option is generally more appealing, I tend to follow that method most often.

Alas, one day perhaps I will win the lottery and have enough $$ to buy my entire family their own video game platforms and we can play on a network with microphones and headphones. Hmm, perhaps that doesn't sound that appealing after-all.
